Boro have six pre-season friendlies arranged in July, including a week-long trip to Cornwall, when the Teessiders will step up their preparations.
New signings Joe Lumley and Sammy Ameobi will be hoping to make a positive first impression, while Warnock remains hopeful he can bring in more players before the start of the season.
There were several first-team departures at the end of last season, and more players could still follow – whether that be on permanent or loan deals.
Warnock’s aspiration is to challenge for promotion this term, and the Boro boss will know that successful campaigns start in the summer months.
The 72-year-old is also aware that some players can prove themselves during the off season
Here, we take a closer look at every player’s situation heading into pre-season:

2. Dejan Stojanovic

3. Sol Brynn
The 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for Boro. Warnock will want to sign another goalkeeper which would allow Brynn to leave on loan. Photo: George Wood

4. Anfernee Dijksteel
Missed the end of last season with an ankle injury but the 24-year-old is set to play a big part this campaign. The Dutchman's composure on the ball and ability to read the game will be a big asset regardless of the system. Photo: George Wood
