The 32-year-old, who scored three goals in 15 appearances during a loan spell at Boro, became a free agent earlier this summer after his contract at Everton expired.

The winger had offers in Turkey before he signed for Boro last January, and it seems that interest has been revived.
Boro have been busy in the transfer market over recent weeks after completing the signings of winger Sammy Ameobi, striker Uche Ikpeazu and defender Lee Peltier on permanent deals.
The Teessiders have also brought in goalkeeper Joe Lumley, who looks set to be the club’s new No 1.
