When the two sides last met, back in Boro stormed to a 3-0 win at the Riverside Stadium, with the likes of Britt Assombalonga and Marvin Johnson getting on the scoresheet.
A win for Neil Warnock's side could see them move to within just two points of sixth place, in a tightly-packed top-half of the table.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth's caretaker manager Jonathan Woodgate has been discussing the influence of Burnley boss Sean Dyche when he was managing Middlesbrough.
Woodgate revealed: "I’ve never managed against him, but on the phone he was always there for me when I was manager with Middlesbrough.
"He’d always give me advice, always speak to me on the phone, pick the phone up whenever.
"There was a time when Ben Gibson came to Middlesbrough last season and I spoke to him often on the phone as well. So he’s a really good guy, offered me great advice when I was managing."
