Watmore can’t wait to get started

Boro completed the signing of Duncan Watmore on Monday as the 26-year-old put pen to paper on a short-term deal until mid-January.

Watmore has been training with Neil Warnock’s side for the last few weeks and the Mail understands the forward was close to moving to India before learning about Boro’s interest.

When asked about working with Warnock, Watmore told Boro’s website: “He’s been very honest and I’m really looking forward to working under him.

“He’s a been a big name in the game for a long time now.

“There were some offers here and there and different options, but I was most excited for this one. It just felt right. There’s so many things going for this club and I’m excited to be a part of it.

“I feel in a really good place. I feel sharp. Game sharpness is different to training sharpness, but I feel like I can make an impact on games. I just want to get on the pitch and show what I can do.”

Kick-off times change

Boro face a busy schedule of nine games in 29 days, starting with Saturday’s meeting against Norwich.

Warnock’s side will then host Derby on Wednesday, November 25, a match which has been brought forward to 7pm from it’s original 7.45pm kick-off time.

It has also been announced that two other home fixtures against Swansea (Wednesday, December 2) and Luton (Wednesday, December 16) have been brought forward to 7pm.

Season card holders will be able to watch all three games via the club’s website while non-season card holders can also pay to watch individual matches.

Warnock’s hospice raffle

Finally, Boro boss Neil Warnock will donate his Manager of the Month trophy to one lucky supporter to help Butterwick Hospice.

Warnock received the award for October after a month which saw his side win four and draw two in the Championship.

An incredible £3,500 was raised within the first 12 hours.
