The hosts predictably saw more of the ball but struggled to create many clear-cut chances against a well-drilled Boro side.

The Teessiders handed debuts to forward Yannick Bolasie and right-back Darnell Fisher, and the latter was awarded Sky Sports’ man of the match after an excellent display against Norwich wideman Todd Cantwell.

@JoeScottGraps: Decent performance and a hard earned point against the league leaders so can’t complain really on to Brentford at The Riverside next week

@UTFB97: Would have snapped your hand off for a point before the game but the way the second half panned out it’s frustrating it’s not three

@JordanEvans1707: A superb point today and well deserved! Thought the starters played really well and look like great additions

@tom_mcgarry17: Excellent way to cap off a horrid week, every single player gave all they had and put in a very disciplined and effective shift. Fischer had a very impressive debut and 55 minutes under Bolasie’s belt is a bonus. Lacked that spark in the final third but no complaints

@lewisyates20: Brilliant point,a million times better performance than in recent games @Boro! Really impressed with Fisher probably not even had a training session with the squad and pulls off a performance that was very good, my MOTM

@ChristianDarby9: Excellent performance from everyone today! Game plan pretty much spot on. Just a shame we couldn’t nick a winner as we probably deserved. Darnell Fisher had a promising debut too!

@jimmylees: A hell of a lot to like about today’s performance. Norwich weren’t allowed to play their game, which had to be our main priority. One or two more through the door and a fighting chance for the top six
