Boro captain Britt Assombalonga was forced off with an injury against Reading at the weekend and isn’t in the matchday squad to face the Robins.

Marcus Tavernier and Marc Bola have also dropped out of the starting XI, with Patrick Roberts, Marvin Johnson and Djed Spence coming in.

Here’s how some supporters reacted to the team news on social media:

@IwanEvans19: Worrying that Britt isn’t even in the squad but hopefully he’ll be fit for Saturday

@davlaarr: Remember when Fletcher was taken off as a precaution? Yeah same. Hope same isn’t happening to Britt

@KieranPlatford1: Not confident, doing a Warnock, take a point and move on.

@Strickland__Ben: Bit harsh dropping Tav and Bola imo, hopefully Neil has a trick up his sleeve

@NicolaC51255305: Why drop Tavernier?

@YusufBoroFan: Solid team. 1:0 away win. UTB

@RobSc0tt: Happy enough with that. Hopefully being dropped has given Djed and Johnson a kick. Roberts had to come in. Oway then, Boro.

@Davefevs: Is that 5-3-2 with Spence and Johnson as WBs...Robert’s off of Akpom.

@DavidKingy1982: We need another couple strikers

@BonkersforBoro: Looking forward to seeing how this #Boro team gets on. Back to the 5 in defence, while we're hoping the Patrick Roberts magic will be alive and kicking!

@chrisrobson13: Roberts starting? Alright sound
