How much Middlesbrough will earn against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup third round
Middlesbrough will receive an extra cash windfall when they host Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup next month.
Spurs will travel to the Riverside on Sunday, January 5 (2:01pm kick-off) after the game was chosen to be broadcast on BT Sport.
That means Boro will gain an extra £150,000 for the televised fixture, while third-round winners will earn an additional £135,000.
Premier League and Championship clubs will claim a total of around £6.8million, excluding televised games, for winning the competition.
All FA Cup third-round matches will be delayed by one minute as part of a ‘Take A Minute’ campaign which encourages fans to look after their mental health.
Boro have slashed ticket prices for their meeting with Spurs, who have won three of their four league games since the appointment of Jose Mourinho in November.
Tickets for the fixture will go on sale to season card holders from 12noon on Thursday, December 12 and are priced at £15 for adults, £10 for over-65s and £5 for under-18s.
Season Card holders will have until 5pm on Thursday December 19 to guarantee their usual seat.
Supporters with 10 or more priority points will be able to purchase tickets from 9am on Monday, December 16.
Tickets will then go on general sale from 9am on Friday, December 20 and are priced at £20 for adults, £15 for over-65 and £10 for under-18s.
