Many were quick to praise Jonny Howson, as the midfielder produced an accomplished display on his first start for over a month following a hamstring injury.

Here’s how some supporters reacted to the win:

@matty_carson: How good was Howson tonight?!

@Chris_Garbutt87: Welcome back Howson! Immense my bro…

@Smithy_MFC84: Luckily for us their heads inexplicably went at the end, otherwise that could’ve been an unnecessarily hairy final few minutes. But it was a much deserved three points. We weren’t sparkling, but we were clinical at the right times, and did the unglamorous stuff well.

@Luceaspery: Excellent performance, top result. Jonny Howson, what a bloke

@tom_mcgarry17: Perfect response after Saturday

@joepresgrave03: Quality from Britt tonight, can’t see none of his haters now
