Middlesbrough will be looking to strengthen multiple positions over the summer, with a new striker the priority.

The Teessiders will also be looking for a new goalkeeper and potentially some more wide players, depending on players out of contract and who are on loan at the club.

Derby could cash in on midfielder Jason Knight, 20, if they are relegated from the Championship. The Republic of Ireland international has been linked with Burnley and Leeds after becoming a first-team regular with the Rams. (Lancashire Live)

Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock is looking for assurances from players who he’s looking to sign this summer. “Most teams you can’t sign players until July the 1st if their contracts are up but I need players who will give me their word that they’re signing,” said the Boro boss. “That’s what I like to do. Burnley and Brentford are both interested in Nottingham Forest teenager Brennan Johnson. The 19-year-old is on loan at Lincoln in League One where he has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances this season. (The Athletic)
