Leeds United set for major boost ahead of Middlesbrough clash

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is hopeful midfielder Kalvin Phillips and goalkeeper Kiko Casilla will be fit for Wednesday’s trip to Middlesbrough.

Phillips limped off with a calf injury in the first half of Leeds’ 1-0 win over Reading, yet the setback isn’t thought to be serious.

“He has a problem but maybe he plays,” said Bielsa. “That depends on how the pain develops but if he can support the pain he will play.”

Casilla was also a doubt for the meeting with Boro after suffering a finger injury in the win over Reading, yet Bielsa says the Spaniard could play.

On Casilla, the Leeds boss added: “It's a kick. Depending on if the pain disappears as well, the same situation with Kiko But with both players I am optimistic.”

Leeds will be hoping to record their third victory in a row following wins over Bristol City and Reading.
