Boro took the lead through Marvin Johnson at the John Smith’s Stadium but went 2-1 down before half-time after goals from Carel Eiting and Fraizer Campbell.

After failing to take their chances in the first half, the visitors struggled to create opportunities after the break but did draw level through an 83rd-minute Britt Assombalonga penalty.

Yet it was Huddersfield who took a deserved three points after Josh Koroma’s winner five minutes from time.

Despite the result many fans remained positive after Boro’s promising start to the season – yet some were quick to point out the side’s poor finishing and how tired some players looked.

Here are some of the responses:

@smoggyontour86: Some of our players looked knackered, changes will have to be made for the Swansea game.

@thecuttybang: Finishing was poor, we're doing well but our finishing is a major problem. Warnock needs to wave his magic wand and craft some strikers out of thin air. Two out of contract at the end of the season.. could be interesting come January

@_CharlieCarney: Onto the next one, any other day we’d have turned them over in the first half alone. Warnock is building something quality. Pessimism of some ‘fans’ is laughable

@BoroTastic: Very poor today against an average side. The three goals could have been easily avoided but let's stay positive and hopefully we'll be back playing well midweek.

@Matt_Rowney: Its alright lads, a win would have only put us 5th.…

@nick66124: Well, what promised to be such a good game, turned out to be so disappointing. As an avid Boro supporter, I have to say that Huddersfield deserved their win, although I believe we actually gifted them the game.

@RichesGary: One of those days. Should have been three up before they equalised.

@tom_mcgarry17: Massive reality check, still cannot believe that we have lost this game

@GeorgeScott96: Very poor losing to the likes of Huddersfield. Waited too long to make subs and made the wrong subs, but hopefully can go stronger next time. In Neil we trust
