Middlesbrough ace slams calls for teammates summer exit, Watford miss out on £35m transfer windfall

Middlesbrough return to Championship action this weekend, where they'll be looking to reignite their push for the play-offs against relegation-battling Derby County.

When the two sides last met, back in Boro stormed to a 3-0 win at the Riverside Stadium, with the likes of Britt Assombalonga and Marvin Johnson getting on

the scoresheet.

A win for Neil Warnock's side could see them move to within just two points of sixth place, in a tightly-packed top-half of the table.

Speaking after his side's 4-1 loss to Brentford earlier in the week, Warnock backed his strikers to respond to the quality of loan signing Yannick Bolasie's

crossing in the coming weeks, and contended: "He’ll (Bolasie) get better because some of those crosses we will eventually put them in.

“People aren’t used to that because in fairness we haven’t had anything quality-wise like that and have been feeding on scraps.

“Strikers get blamed but you have to look at what they’re getting. Now they haven’t got an excuse because they are going to get some good opportunities.“I think we’ve created more chances than any other game against one of the best sides in the league, so they can’t complain now if they don’t get some goals

now these strikers in the next few weeks.”Scroll your way through the gallery to see all today's Championship stories and transfer news, involving Middlesbrough and a number of other second-tier
