Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock reveals what impressed him during win over Plymouth Argyle in second pre-season friendly
Boro claimed a 3-1 win over Argyle in a training match on Thursday, just days after beating the same opponents 1-0 in a standard 90-minute match.
The second meeting was split into three 30-minute periods and was played at Plymouth’s training ground rather than Home Park.

“The other day we could have had more than we had, but it’s nice to take the chances,” Warnock told the club’s website. “That’s what we work for. Hopefully we can hit a bit of form and everybody can get among the goals.”
Boro will travel back from Cornwall on Saturday after a week-long training camp and will now prepare for a Carabao Cup meeting with Shrewsbury next week.
Midfield duo Paddy McNair and George Saville are set to miss the game after being called up by Northern Ireland for their upcoming Nations League fixtures.

“Sav and Paddy are off with the Northern Irish squad after tomorrow so we wanted to look after them.
“The facilities were good, and the pitch was in excellent condition. It was ideal. It was another thoroughly good workout, we had no injuries, and it’s been a good week so far.”
