Neil Warnock is keen to land the winger on a permanent basis after he impressed during a half-season loan spell.

Bolasie contributed three goals during his spell at the Riverside Stadium, and is now available on a free transfer after his contract at Everton expired.

But while Warnock is keen to seal a deal, reports have suggested that more lucrative deals may be on the table from other Championship clubs.

Speaking prior to the end of the season, Warnock hinted that the ball was very much in Bolasie’s park.

“It’ll depend on what offers Yannick gets, I suppose,” said the Boro boss.

"I’ve spoken to him about the situation.

"I don’t think he’ll get a Premier League club if I’m honest, so it’ll probably come down to whether he wants to play in the Championship or whether he’d rather go abroad because I think that’s where the money is.”
