The Teessiders are still looking to bolster their attacking options this month and are also looking to sign another full-back.

Boro have previously been linked with Aston Villa defender Frederic Guilbert, who has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park this season.

According to Birmingham Live, the 26-year-old was set to sign for Cardiff City but pulled out of the deal.

They report that Guilbert could return to France before the end of the month but is also prepared to sit tight at Villa despite being third-choice right-back behind Matty Cash and Ahmed Elmohamady.

Latest Famara Diedhiou reports

Boro have also been credited with interest in Bristol City striker Famara Diedhiou.

The 28-year-old will see his contract at Ashton Gate exire at the end of the season but the Robins are hopeful he will stay.

According to Sky Sports, Egyptianside Pyramids FC want to sign Diedhiou while Boro are likely to wait until the summer.

Bristol Live have reported that no contact offer has been made for Diedhiou while the Robins haven’t received any bids for the striker.

Rahman set to leave Chelsea

Finally, full-back Baba Rahman is set to leave Chelsea.

Several Championship clubs, including Boro and Watford, were reportedly interested in the 26-year-old over the summer but he remained at Stamford Bridge.

According to Sport24, an agreement has been reached with Greek side PAOK for the full-back to leave Chelsea on a six-month loan deal.
