Middlesbrough midfielder signs new deal as club tie down academy prospects

Middlesbrough have handed out another professional contract to one of their academy prospects.

Teenage midfielder Isiah Cornet, 18, has put pen to paper after completing a successful third year as a scholar.

The Frenchman joined Boro in 2018 from amateur French club US Torcy following a successful trial on Teesside.

Since then, Cornet has become a regular for Boro’s under-23s side.

The news comes after defender Jack Robinson 19, signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Robinson told the Boro’s website: “I've been here since I was an Under-12, so to add to that is a great feeling.

"Ever since I was a kid I've been going to the games, I've had season tickets, and watching the likes of Ben Gibson - that's what I aspire to and where I want to be.

"It's been a great experience training with the senior players and to make my debut even for a few minutes was a dream come true.”
