Mendez-Laing, who is a free agent after his contract was terminated by Cardiff in September, travelled to Rockliffe on Monday evening to complete his medical and the signing is expected to be announced.

Boro boss Neil Warnock is still keen to bolster his attacking options, and it’s been claimed that Kebano has emerged as a late target.
