Hall was forced off with a head injury as Boro beat Rotherham 2-1 last time out following a clash of heads with Millers midfielder Matt Crooks.

“I’ve not actually seen Grant yet. I think he had seven stitches in his head, so I’ll be looking at that later today,” said Warnock. “If there’s any doubt though, we won’t play Grant.”

Spence and Coulson missed the Rotherham match because of injury and illness respectively as Boro only named six substitutes at the New York Stadium.

The pair could return this weekend, though, as Boro prepare for their final three league games.

“I think Djed will be back in the squad at the weekend. Hayden was feeling a lot better, although I don’t know if he’s in today.

“If he comes in this morning, or even if he’s on his own this afternoon, if he says he’s okay, we’ve got enough room for both of them on the bench. They’ll both be in the squad.”

Warnock says he’s looking forward to a meeting with Wednesday, especially given his Sheffield United connections.

"I want us to try and enjoy the last three games, that means working hard and trying to play,” added the Boro boss.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing remains out with a thigh injury, while Boro will also be without long-term absentees Dael Fry, Marcus Tavernier, Anfernee Dijksteel, Marcus Browne and Sam Morsy.
