Middlesbrough to be backed by large away following at Oakwell as Barnsley boss fires pre-match warning

Jonathan Woodgate’s side will be looking to ease some pressure following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Luton – a result which saw the Teessiders slip within three points of the relegation zone.

Bottom of the table Barnsley are six points from safety but should be full of confidence following a shock 3-0 win over promotion-chasing Fulham.

Boro received an initial batch of 2,000 away tickets for the match but have now been given an additional allocation which remain on general sale.

Barnsley boss Gerhard Struber is certainly feeling more confident following his side’s victory over Fulham.

The result ended the Tykes’ 10-match winless run, yet the Austrian still believes they can be a match for anybody.

“I think the last few days had been a big challenge for us, especially being at the bottom of the table and the last game being not a big highlight for my team,” said Struber after the win over Fulham.

“It was a very, very important win for my team and gives my team and staff a good mood to fight in the next few days and prepare the team for the next challenge against Middlesbrough.”

“The gap is six points now and I think if we can reproduce this style in the next few weeks it won’t be easy for any team we play.”
