The player was linked with a loan move to Boro last January but instead signed for QPR where he made six league appearances last term.

After returning to Leicester in the summer, Benkovic then moved to Cardiff on loan but made just one league appearance for the Bluebirds.
The 23-year-old has now been recalled by Leicester and is likely to try and find another club before the end of the month.
Warnock did try to sign another centre-back in the last transfer window and will be assessing his options at the back due to Grant Hall’s thigh injury.
