Boro boss Neil Warnock is keen to sign another winger on loan, with Clarke seemingly available after making just two Europa League appearances all season.

According to Sky Sports, Boro, Stoke and Swansea are among the Championship clubs who are chasing a loan move for the 20-year-old.

It’s also been claimed that Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry are tracking Clarke, who joined Spurs from Leeds in the summer of 2019.

Clarke was loaned back to Leeds at the start of the 2019/20 season but made just one Championship appearance before the deal was cut short.

The player was linked with a loan move to Boro last January but instead signed for QPR where he made six league appearances last term.

Defender returns from loan spell

Another player who was linked with Boro this time last year is Leicester centre-back Filip Benkovic.

The Teessiders instead signed Harold Moukoudi on loan from French side St-Etienne, while Benkovic moved to Championship rivals Bristol City.

After returning to Leicester in the summer, Benkovic then moved to Cardiff on loan but made just one league appearance for the Bluebirds.

The 23-year-old has now been recalled by Leicester and is likely to try and find another club before the end of the month.

Warnock did try to sign another centre-back in the last transfer window and will be assessing his options at the back due to Grant Hall’s thigh injury.

Forest still interested in Grosicki

Finally, West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki could still sign for Nottingham Forest after a deal to the City Ground collapsed in October.

The Polish international has made just one Premier League appearance all season and appears surplus to requirements at the Hawthorns.

Boro have also been linked with the 32-year-old who joined West Brom from Hull last January.

According to Birmingham Live, Forest remains a potential destination for Grosicki who wants to gain more first-team football ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
