It was reported earlier this week that Boro and Watford had made loan offers for Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman.

The 26-year-old looked set for another move abroad but a deal didn’t materialise before Monday’s international deadline.

Rahman now appears to be on the radar of several Championship clubs, with the Daily Mail claiming Derby have joined the race to sign him.

Boro set to miss out on winger

The 23-year-old was linked with Boro last month, yet it’s unclear if there was genuine interest from Teesside.

According to Sky Sports, Williams is closing in on a move to the Championship, with Barnsley, Stoke and Preston all interested.

Williams was named in the League Two Team of the Season last term after helping Exeter reach the play-off final.

The 22-year-old made his Championship debut last season and played against Tottenham in the FA Cup but wasn’t in Neil Warnock’s plans at the Riverside.

"It's been a few weeks in the making and I was glad to finally get it over the line at the start of the week and kick on now,” Liddle told the Bristol Rovers website after signing a two-year deal.

"I've heard it's a young, hungry team with a manager that wants to play football right way so that was a big factor for me - at my age, I'm 22, I want to come and play men's football and get as many games under my belt as I can."
