Warnock certainly didn’t rule out a move for the Everton winger but remained coy when asked about the 31-year-old.

Bolasie is surplus to requirements at Goodison Park and would be allowed to leave if a deal can be agreed.

According to Football Insider, Blackburn and Millwall are all trying to sign the wideman yet Boro is his preferred destination.

Warnock has previously worked with Bolasie during their time at Crystal Palace, while the winger was close to joining Boro two years ago before he signed for Aston Villa.

“He is a good lad but whether that will come off I don’t know yet,” said Warnock on Friday morning.

Baba Rahman reports not going away

Another player who has been heavily linked with Boro is Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman.

The 26-year-old was expected to move abroad before the end of the international transfer window, yet that option is no longer viable.

Warnock said in his press conference that signing another defender was no longer a priority, yet it’s also been claimed that Rahman remains on Boro’s radar.

According to the Athletic, Rahman may still sign for Boro but is now unlikely to join Watford despite previous reports.

The left-back has also been linked with Derby in recent weeks, yet those reports appear to have gone cold.

Striker latest

Warnock said he was looking at six striker options on Thursday evening, with loan deals the most likely.

Boro have previously been linked with a move for West Brom forward Kenneth Zohore, yet various reports have claimed the 26-year-old is negotiating a deal with Millwall.

The Teessiders have also been credited with interest in Stoke frontman Lee Gregory who may be allowed to leave the Bet365 Stadium despite starting the Potters’ last two league games.
