Warnock said last week he’d enquired about signing another centre-back on loan due to a shortage in that position.
One name which has been mentioned is that of Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips, who was reportedly wanted by a clutch of Championship clubs.
It was then claimed an injury could prevent the 23-year-old leaving Anfield in the next few weeks, yet a deal may not be completely dead.
According to Goal.com, a group of Liverpool players, including Phillips, are expected to secure loan moves to EFL clubs later this month.

Oxford still want Marcus Browne
In terms of outgoings, Boro may still look to send some players out on loan in the next few weeks.
Warnock told BBC Tees on Saturday that, in an ideal world, he would loan out winger Marcus Browne due to his lack of game time.
The 22-year-old impressed while on loan at Oxford last season, and U’s boss Karl Robinson says they would be interested.

“If he’s wanted by Neil and Middlesbrough, Marcus is a wonderful player and I’d never get in the way of his development at a higher level.
“But if he becomes available, I’d like to think that we’d be a very strong choice for him.
“I think he could be one of the final pieces in this jigsaw moving forward.”

Finally, midfielder Connor Malley has thanked the staff at Boro for allowing him to join League Two club Carlisle United on a half-season loan.
“I was surprised when I heard about the opportunity but I was grateful for it, and I told my agent just to get it done as quickly as possible,” Malley told Carlisle’s website after the deal was completed last week.
“It didn’t take much thinking about for me at all because Carlisle is a big club for where they are, and they should be higher up.
“Hopefully I can come here and contribute to helping them get up to a better place.”

“This is a different type of challenge to what I’ve had before and I’m really looking forward to it. All I want to do now is get playing.”
