Middlesbrough Under-23s were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle Under-23s at Heritage Park in Premier League 2, Division 2, on Friday night.
Second-half goals from Elliot Anderson and Tom Allan secured all three points for the visitors on a difficult night for the Teessiders. New goalkeepr Dejan Stojanovic and defender Anfernee Dijksteel both played for Boro, while Nathan Wood was shown a straight red card in stoppage time.
