The 21-year-old joined Boro from non-league side Tooting and Mitcham in 2019 and has gone on to impress for the under-23s team in the Premier League 2.

Jones also featured on the bench in Middlesbrough’s matches against Swansea City and Stoke but is yet to make his senior first team debut.

Having praised Boro’s academy set-up at Rockcliffe as the ‘best’ he’s ever seen in his 40-years of management, manager Neil Warnock was delighted to tie down one of the club’s most promising young talents.

"Isaiah is another who we have been impressed with and we hope can keep progressing," Warnock told the club website.

"He is a talented boy so he just needs to keep his head down and keep working hard now."

Jones becomes the fifth Middlesbrough player to pen a contract extension over the past month along with Anfernee Dijksteel, Paddy McNair, Jonny Howson and Sam Folarin.
