The 27-year-old joined Boro on loan from Sheffield United in January but saw his contract at Bramall Lane expire last month.

Morrison wasn’t included in Boro’s matchday squad against Cardiff City on Saturday as Neil Warnock only named seven substitutes against the Bluebirds.

"I don't think I'd use Ravel again this season," said Warnock after Morrison’s departure was confirmed.

"So I told him as far as I was concerned I thanked him for what he's done since I've been here and then let him go."

Morrison made one appearance under Warnock after starting Boro’s 1-0 defeat by QPR at the Riverside Stadium.

He also played in the games away at Wigan and Barnsley before the season was suspended but struggled to make an impact.
