We’ve identified nine creative widemen who were playing in the Championship or upper end of League One last season who could be available this summer. Some have already been linked with Boro while others have simply impressed in recent months: Scroll down to see the full list:
5. Jed Wallace (Millwall)
Wallace, 25, has also been linked with Boro in the past and been a key player for Millwall in the Championship over the last two seasons. His ability from dead-ball situations are a major asset. Photo: Warren Little
6. Albert Adomah (Free agent)
At 31, Adomah is slightly older than the other players on this list. Even so, Boro fans would surely welcome him back following his spell at the club three years ago. The winger is currently without a club after leaving Aston Villa last month. Photo: Alex Davidson
7. Niclas Eliasson (Bristol City)
Despite his lack of goals, the Swedish flanker progressed significantly last campaign, making 33 Championship appearances for Bristol City. Eliasson is another player who isn't afraid to run with the ball and who can create chances for others. Photo: Michael Steele
8. Sergi Canos (Brentford)
After a difficult year at Norwich during the 2016/17 campaign, the former Liverpool trainee, 22, has kicked on at Brenford. Last season, Canos contributed with seven league goals and seven assists in a side which played attacking, free-flowing football. Photo: Harry Murphy
