Marcus Bettinelli has started every league game for the Teessiders this campaign, following his season-long loan move from Fulham, but hasn’t been convincing between the sticks.
The 28-year-old made a costly error for the opening goal in a 2-0 defeat at Barnsley last time out and has been caught out on other occasions during the 2019/20 season.
Boro’s second-choice keeper Jordan Archer will also be out of contract this summer, meaning the Teessiders could be looking to sign two new stoppers over the next few months.
With several players set to become free agents this summer, Boro will undoubtedly be exploring that market while loan deals are also a possibility.
We’ve picked out nine goalkeepers who are currently contracted to Premier League and Championship clubs who Boro could target.
