The Boro squad is evidently short of wide players following the departures of Marvin Johnson and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, while Yannick Bolasie and Neeskens Kebano saw their loan deals end.
Marcus Tavernier and Duncan Watmore can operate on the flanks but may be better suited to central positions if the Teessiders can land some of their transfer targets.

5. Isaac Mbenza - Huddersfield
Despite Huddersfield's underwhelming season, Mbenza, 25, stood out for the Terriers. His pace and dribbling ability can cause teams problems, while he is also a threat from free-kicks - as Boro found out during February's game at the Riverside.

7. Kamil Grosicki - Free agent
The Polish international clearly has plenty of ability which he demonstrated during his time at Hull and when he helped West Brom win promotion to the Premier League. After a frustrating season at The Hawthorns, the 32-year-old will be out of contract this summer.

8. Josh Murphy - Cardiff
Warnock signed the winger while he was at Cardiff and likes players who can run with the ball to open up defences. The 26-year-old has a year left on his contract with the Bluebirds and hasn't been a regular starter.
