Here’s how some Boro fans reacted to the team news.

@tom_mcgarry17: Where is the bench?

@smoggyontour86: No Mendez, Bolasie on bench. Spence starting. Britt and Fletcher in the squad.

@RobSc0tt: It makes sense to go with the majority who are going to be here next season. Five of the six on the bench are leaving as it stands.

Middlesbrough fans.

@tonywaters: If he's accepted that play-offs are now out of reach and he's looking at individuals/partnerships in advance of contract renewals & the summer transfer window, then it makes absolute sense to me.

@Hutchy_6: Spence on the wing > Spence at Full back

@wanaldinho: There are a couple of wows in there wow 6 on the bench. Wow Bolasie on the bench, our most creative/ imagination player and also Britt on the bench wow

@Instantclass69: Seasons done with now anyway.

@jess_dalts: We haven’t even kicked a ball yet and already certain players are getting pelters

@MatthewBye13: An actual striker?! hope we can sneak a draw today
