Middlesbrough are one of several clubs interested in a deal for former Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako, according to reports.
The wideman is a free agent after leaving Selhurst Park at the end of last season and is thought to have no shortage of admirers as he seeks a new club.
Sako, 30, was offered a new contract by the top flight side but failed to agree terms - while a potential return to the Eagles stalled last month,
And now TeamTalk are reporting that Middlesbrough and several of their Championship rivals are all interested in the winger, who has proven his worth in the Premier League during his time at Palace.
West Brom, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are all thought to be keen on a deal for Sako, with second tier sides still able to sign free agents despite the closure of the transfer window.
Tony Pulis is thought to be in the market for another winger having lost Adama Traore to Sako's former side Wolves.
Late deals for Yannick Bolasie and Albert Adomah fell through, leaving Boro slightly light in wider areas.
Such shortages could convince Pulis to make a move for the Mali international - who is likely to be an affordable and attainable target for the club.
