1. (11th) Cristhian Stuani (from Espanyol - £2.8million)
The Uruguayan forward wasn't always a first-team regular at the Riverside but always came up with important goals. Stuani's crucial finish against Brighton on the final day of the 2015/16 season will live long in the memory and helped push Boro over the promotion line. Photo: Stu Forster
2. (10th) Darren Randolph (from West Ham - £5million)
Many saw Randolph as the best goalkeeper in the Championship before his return to West Ham in January. The Republic of Ireland international won Boro's player of the season award following the 2018/19 campaign when the Teessiders had the joint best defensive record. Photo: George Wood
3. (9th) Dimi Konstantopoulos (from AEK Athens - free)
At one stage, the Greek shot-stopper was Boro's fourth-choice goalkeeper after joining the Teessiders on a short-term deal. Konstantopulos took his opportunity when it came, though, and established himself as the No 1 keeper for the two promotion-chasing seasons under Aitor Karanka. Photo: Nigel Roddis
4. (8th) Patrick Bamford (from Chelsea - loan)
Bamford won the Championship's player of the season award after joining Boro on loan from Chelsea at the start of the 2014/15 season. His 17 league goals took the Teessiders to the cusp of the Premier League before losing in the play-off final. Photo: Alex Livesey
