First-team assistant Ronnie Jepson said on Tuesday that several of the club’s younger players could depart on loan, yet moves may depend on players coming in.
We’ve picked out seven young players who could benefit from a move – scroll down and flick through our picture gallery to see them:
1. Sam Folarin
After impressing in pre-season, the 19-year-old made his senior debut for Boro after coming off the bench on Tuesday night. Once again, Boro would ideally like to send the youngster out on loan but that may depend on incomings. Photo: Frank Reid
2. Nathan Wood
Jepson said on Tuesday that Wood will hopefully be allowed to leave on loan this summer, yet it will probably depend on players coming in. The centre-back is still only 18 and more first-team experience should help his development. Photo: Owen Humphreys
3. Aynsley Pears
It could be deemed the goalkeeper is now third choice, despite breaking into the senior side last season. Blackburn are interested in signing Pears, 22, permanently as the stopper will be out of contract at the end of the campaign. Photo: Getty Images
4. Stephen Walker
Was involved in pre-season but hasn't even been on the bench for any of Boro's three competitive games so far this season. After a spell at Crewe last term, another loan move looks on the cards for the 19-year-old as Warnock looks to sign more strikers. Photo: Alex Davidson
