The result extended Boro’s unbeaten run to nine games, but while many fans were pleased with the overall performance, there was also a slight sense of disappointment after the match.

Here’s how some supporters reacted to the result:

@brendan_mannion: Good performance again, gutted we couldn’t take the 3 points as we dominated for large parts. Just wouldn’t fall for us, but to be fair some great blocks from the Blackburn defence throughout, they were committed and kept going. UTB

@UTB15117492: Must’ve put 15-20 incredibly good crosses in and not scored. Sits with the strikers for me tonight. Would’ve taken a point before the game though.

@PhilWrightson: I guess it’s progress after last season that we are disappointed to only take a point from an away game that we dominated

@LewisThompson7: Conceded 1 goal in 6 games, with a back 4 of Bola and Dijksteel, who everyone wrote off, McNair, who is a centre mid and Fry, who everyone had given up on, some turn around by Warnock, we were all over the place at the back under Woody

@ppnd84: People get too excited about possession but we never really looked like scoring tonight. The spark just wasn't there. The game plan has worked twice in a row but it's not going to work every time. Sooner or later we're going to have to learn how to score goals.

@Jabba1203: Decent point, another clean sheet, could have won it. Happy with what the lads are giving at the moment tough test on Saturday though.

@SwitcherB: How on earth we didn’t win that I’ll never know. Super performance though and can’t fault the lads effort.

@dangerousdilks: Would never have thought Blackburn were the home side, a very dominating game for us. Shame we couldn’t finish one of the chances

@JoeSidgwick: Hard to play against a team who realised they had to dig in for the majority of the game. Still one of the best performances I’ve seen from Boro in a while
