The 22-year-old has signed an 18-month contract at the fellow League Two strugglers.

Pools had made no secret of the fact they were keen on bringing in the Boro-born forward who spent three months at Victoria Park earlier this season, scoring four goals.

Moore had said in in SportMail: “We spoke to Middlesbrough and have been desperate to get Charlie back in, but at this moment in time his agent is guiding him in a different direction.

“He would be a hell of a signing for us but it won’t happen at this moment in time.”

The direction his agent was guiding him in was west, Cumbrian strugglers Carlisle, who are just three places above Pools, although the points gap was 10 points going into Saturday’s games.
