Boro were beaten 2-1 at Derby County last time out and have slipped to eight in the Championship, six points off a play-off place.
Warnock highlighted his side’s lack of goals and creativity after the defeat at Pride Park and said he knew the changes he was going to make while he was on the bus home.
Defender Dael Fry and midfielder Marcus Tavernier remain injury doubts for the match with calf and knee issues respectively but could be available for the weekend’s trip to Reading.
Winger Yannick Bolasie is also sidelined with a hamstring injury which will rule him out for a few weeks.
