Boro dropped into the relegation zone over the weekend following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat by QPR and now have five games left to try and beat the drop. Our Boro writer Joe Nicholson has picked the starting XI he would choose to face The Lions – scroll down and flick through the pages to see if you agree:
1. GK: Dejan Stojanovic
Warnock has called for all his players, including his goalkeeper, to be more vocal. Stojanovic has made some decent saves in recent weeks but possibly could have done better with some of the goals Boro have conceded. Photo: JPI Media
2. RB: Djed Spence
Missed the QPR game through injury. Warnock will make a late decision regarding the right-back's fitness as Boro missed his pace and energy last time out. Photo: Getty Images
3. CB: Dael Fry
Has seemed more assured at the back since Warnock's arrival. Looks like he'll be a key player for Boro's remaining five games. Photo: Frank Reid
4. CB: George Friend
Has received some stick for a couple of mistakes in Boro's last two games. However, in a team which is short of leaders, Friend's attempts to be more vocal in a young and inexperienced backline shouldn’t go unnoticed. Photo: Gareth Copley
