A television game is likely to take place on Friday, 6 August while the EFL Play-Offs will once again be staged at Wembley Stadium across two weekends in May.
Middlesbrough have been competing near the top of the Championship for most of this season but saw their play-off hopes suffer another blow during a 2-1 defeat at Swansea last time out.

Hide AdNeil Warnock’s side are now seven points off the top six with 11 games to go, while sixth-place Barnsley also have a game in hand on the Teessiders.
The 2021/22 fixture list will be released once it is confirmed which divisions each team is playing in.
