The transfer deadlines Middlesbrough are facing to sign players ahead of Shrewsbury Town and Watford fixtures
Boro will open their campaign with a Carabao Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town on Friday, with new signing Grant Hall expected to make his competitive debut for the Teessiders.
Yet it’s unlikely Warnock will have any other new additions to call upon, after admitting he doesn’t expect any more arrivals this week.

That means the necessary paperwork would have to be submitted by 12 noon on Thursday for a new signing to be eligible for the Shrewsbury match (Friday, 5:30pm kick-off).
The same rules will apply ahead of Boro’s Championship opener at Watford next week, which has been brought forward to Friday, September 11 (7:45pm kick-off).
Boro have missed out of several transfer targets this summer but remain interested in free agent striker Yaya Sanogo and Charlton goalkeeper Dillon Phillips.

“We are working hard, we can't work any harder to bring them in. I can't see any this week but we just keep going."
