Incomings

Despite Boro’s thin squad, Warnock has repeatedly said he only wants players who can improve his side and challenge for a first-team place.

With Ashley Fletcher and Jonny Howson set to return from injury in the next few weeks, Boro don’t appear desperate to make new signings just for the sake of it.

Warnock has previously spoken about how the club were tracking an ‘attacking jewel’ from overseas but admitted a deal is unlikely to happen until the summer.

Boro are more likely to target players in England and have been in talks with Premier League clubs about potential loan deals, with an attacking wide player the priority.

Warnock will also be monitoring the situation at centre-back, with Grant Hall still sidelined with a thigh injury.

Convincing Duncan Watmore to extend his contract, which is set to expire in a couple of weeks, will also be near the top of Boro’s agenda.

Outgoings

Warnock will hope to keep his squad intact after a promising start to the campaign.

Boro don’t appear to be in a position where they need to sell players, yet there is always a chance a tempting offer could be lodged.

The Teessiders will also be weighing up the situation with Britt Assombalonga and Fletcher, who will both see their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Warnock has said the pair want to stay at the club, with more talks set to take place.

Boro may also decide to send some of their younger players out on loan to gain more first-team experience but that will depend on injuries and players coming in.
