Boro have drawn six of their opening 11 Championship matches heading into the international weekend and while Warnock is keen to turn more of those into wins, he is content with the start to the campaign.

Warnock said: “I think we have to be happy with the draws we’ve had.

"There haven’t been many draws where I haven’t thought we should have won it.

“The defeat at Watford we should have won that as well so if I’m being greedy we should have won every game.

“Great group of lads, not enough devilment in that final third but they are giving it absolutely everything and like being undefeated.

“Now we’ve got Norwich next so that’s another good one.”

Boro sit seventh on 18 points, with promotion rivals Norwich third with an additional three points on their tally ahead of the Riverside clash on November 21 when the Championship resumes.

Warnock, meanwhile, has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for October.

The Boro boss guided his side to 14 points from a possible 18 last month, securing four wins and two draws as part of an unbeaten run that sees the club just outside the play-off places.

As well as beating Barnsley, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest at the Riverside, Warnock's men beat Bristol City on the road and drew with Cardiff City and Reading.

The other nominees in contention are Norwich City's Daniel Farke, new Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael and Reading manager Veljko Paunovic.

The winner will be announced on Friday.

Meanwhile, Isaac Fletcher has capped a fine start to the season by signing his first professional contract with Boro.

A native Teessider, Isaac joined the Academy at Under-10 level and was a key member of the U14s squad who scooped the National Cup in 2015-16.

Last season saw the young midfielder recover from a long-term injury setback and he has now penned his first professional deal with the club.
