This is why Darren Randolph's move from Middlesbrough to West Ham STILL hasn't been announced

The Republic of Ireland international is set to seal a £4million move to the London Stadium after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.

But there has been a hold-up in announcing the finalisation of the transfer, with the Hammers keen to conduct some extra checks on the goalkeeper.

Randolph hasn’t featured for Boro since November 24 and, with a history of niggling injuries, West Ham are keen to delve deeper into his medical history before confirming the signing.

West Ham, however, remain ‘hopeful’ of confirming a deal and believe that the injury won’t cause the deal to stall.

Speaking about the delay, West Ham boss David Moyes said: “At the moment, he is carrying a bit of an injury he’s had for several weeks and we have to make sure it has healed.

“That’s where the delay is and I’m very hopeful.”

Jonathan Woodgate was quizzed on interest in Randolph at his weekly press conference, and simply said: “He's in negotiations with a Premier League team."

Boro still have Tomas Meijas and Aynsley Pears as senior goalkeepers, with the latter having cemented his place in the side in recent weeks.

Meijas, however, featured for Boro in their FA Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur with Woodgate keen to hand him an opportunity.
