Boro were able to bring in Yannick Bolasie and Darnell Fisher this week and both players made their debuts after starting Boro’s goalless draw with Championship leaders Norwich at Carrow Road.

When asked if he expects to make any more signings before the end of the window, Warnock said: “I’m hoping I get another one in maybe two but I just don’t know.

“This is a horrible window and I’m glad I got two in this week if I’m honest, if I could get another couple in I’d be delighted.”

Warnock also admitted earlier in the week that there may be one or two departures before the deadline.

“We’ve had one or two enquiries but I don’t know if there will be anyone going out or not, it’s possible,” replied Warnock when asked about potential departures. “It all depends on who we can bring in.”

Boro were forced to defend for most of the match at Norwich but goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli wasn’t significantly tested.

The hosts were reduced to ten men in the 67th minute when Emi Buendia received a second yellow card, and Warnock was pleased with his side’s performance.

“Even with 11 men we thought we were starting to get into the ascendency,” Warnock added.

“I thought we stepped up at half-time. I thought we were sensible with ten men as well.

“I thought we broke at the right time and there was just a goal missing really.

“We weren’t quite good enough in the final third, we got into some really good positions but we just couldn’t get a proper connection.

“I thought there were a couple of great runs and set-pieces but there was nothing clear-cut really.”

Bolasie played 56 minutes for Boro in a central striker’s position before he was withdrawn in the second half.

“I thought he did alright,” added Warnock when asked about Bolasie’s performance. “One or two silly fouls but overall he did well.

“They knew they were in a game with him around but I thought he put pressure on them at the right time and it was good for him to get nearly an hour.”
