The pair are set to discuss several aspects at the club, including Warnock’s future, while the Teessiders are already looking at players who could become available.

Boro have identified targets through both their scouting network and Warnock’s contacts during the last two transfer windows, with his assistants Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson also recommending players.

Since Warnock’s appointment, Boro’s staff haven’t been able to watch as many games live due the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning players like Chuba Akpom were signed based on stats and videos analysis.

The Teessiders also tried to sign striker Kieffer Moore last summer, yet the Welsh international, 28, instead joined Cardiff City from Barnsley.

Yet Warnock hopes as restrictions are lifted, his coaching and recruitment team will be able to build up a better picture about potential targets.

“I think Kevin and Ronnie are both good,” said Warnock when asked about recruiting players.

“Kevin is good at the defending and goalkeeping side and Ronnie is very good at the attacking side.

“We'll be going to look at games now and trying to get targets. We've got a list of free transfers who are out of contract but we'll be looking at other targets as well that there's an opportunity to sign.

“But there aren't many who are Championship level, like the likes of Kieffer Moore, there aren't many around.”

Warnock has previously said the club will be looking to sign another striker at the end of the season– one similar to Moore who has a physical presence up front.

When asked if he’s already identified targets, Warnock replied: “Yeah, absolutely.

“I think Steve knows my situation and how I feel. We've had long meetings with the recruitment to tell them what type we're looking at but we need to see them live.

“Hopefully with these vaccinations going well, we might get that chance. Even on the continent, we might get the opportunity to go and see them. You have to if you're spending £2million and £3million at a time.”
