According to reports, Boro have made a loan offer for Flamengo striker Rodrigo Muniz, with journalist Vene Casagrande, who covers Flamengo for Jornal O Dia, claiming the deal would include an option to buy after a 12-month loan period.

The 20-year-old is said to be attracting plenty of interest, though, with Jornal O Dia also claiming that Dubai-based club Al Nasr are ready to offer Muniz a lucrative three-year contract.

It’s also been claimed that Atletico Madrid were in negotiations over a move for the striker but pulled out of the deal after talks with Flamengo broke down.

Surprising Yannick Bolasie report

Elsewhere in the Championship, Reading have reportedly made a move for former Boro winger Yannick Bolasie.

The 32-year-old is a free agent after his contract at Everton expired and recently posted a video of himself training in Turkey.

Yet according to BerkshireLive, The Royals have made an offer for Bolasie, despite confirmation they are under a transfer embargo.

Reading are still able to sign players who are free agents on a one-year deal or make loan signings for half a season.

Archer completes QPR move

Finally, former Middlesbrough goalkeeper Jordan Archer has completed his move to QPR on a two-year deal.

Archer signed a short-term contract with Boro in January and made five Championship appearances for the Teessiders.

The 28-year-old wasn’t offered a new deal at the Riverside, though, and is now looking forward to a new challenge at The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

"I am really excited and looking forward to getting going,” Archer told the QPR website.

"There’s a great crop of young goalkeepers here and the club feel I can add experience to the group.

“I’m here to get my head down and work hard.”
