There were plenty of solid performances for the hosts, with defenders Dael Fry, Paddy McNair and Anfernee Dijksteel once again earning praise.

Fans were also quick to applaud new midfield signing Morsy, who produced another tenacious display before assisting the opener.

Here’s how some supporters reacted on social media:

@GBallantyne7: Unbeaten since the first game of the league, This team is taking us back to the karanka days, UP THE BORO!!!!

@dannyhelmm: Howson, Saville and big Sam Morsy make up a lovely little midfield three

@BoroRoss88: Grinding those results out with a bit of teesside steel in their hearts. We are nothing special and still lacking in creativity but it's great. Warnock has me believing in this team again.

@jimmylees: Sam Morsy is everything Boro fans thought Clayton was. Way better player.

@LewisThompson7: It took us 16 games last season to get to the 13 points mark, this season has taken us 8 games, half the time, the difference that Warnock has made to us!

@Smithy_MFC84: Three points. Another clean sheet. Fry, Dijksteel & McNair near-faultless once more. Britt off the mark. Looking upwards, and into the heady heights of the play off mix. Starting to get a good feeling about this season

@cbstar82: Dael Fry was Immense tonight! Winning headers, took a bang on the head and didn't affect his performance. It was similar to Bristol City last week. Grinded win out. Nicked it late on! Looking solid. Just need to improve In final 3rd. Not a bad start to the season!

@JasonHolliday_: Made hard work of that but I'll take 3 points and a clean sheet all day long

@SharonA73489522: Get in! Fry, McNair & Howson immense for me tonight
