National League chief executive Michael Tattersall is set to resign from his position at the end of 2020.

The National League have come under fire due to its lack of transparency with clubs during the coronavirus pandemic.

And in a statement issued by league chairman Brain Barwick, Tattersall’s departure was confirmed.

It read: “Michael Tattersall is leaving his current role as Chief Executive Officer of the National League.

"He has formally tendered his resignation from the position, which has been accepted, and he will leave the company on December 31st 2020.

“Michael joined the organisation in November 2015, and has since served it with outstanding professionalism, a comprehensive understanding of the sport – its framework and business, building on his life-long affection for the game.

“The National League Board and all his colleagues wish him well for the future and thank him for all his hard work on behalf of the League and its member clubs, the wider football family and our commercial partners.”
