The teenager is one of brightest prospects in the Premier League.

Aarons made an early impact this season before suffering a hamstring injury.

And the 19-year-old will be offered a new contract which reflects his elevation to the first-team squad.

United manager Alan Pardew said: “He has tremendous potential. His talent is there for all to see in the little cameos and roles he has had.”

The club, however, won’t break its strict wage structure for the England Under-20 international, who is reportedly interesting Manchester City and Liverpool.

Aarons – who signed his first professional deal at St James’s Park in April – could be offered a deal with built-in incremental increases over the course of the contract.

The winger earned his Premier League chance after impressing in pre-season.

Aarons – who joined Newcastle from Bristol City two years ago – scored a stunning goal against Schalke 04 in a July tournament in Germany.

He scored his first competitive goal in the club’s 3-3 home draw with Crystal Palace in August.

And Aarons also netted in Newcastle’s stunning 2-0 Capital One Cup win over Manchester City late last month.

But Aarons – who was born in Jamaica but moved to England as a child – is again sidelined, having suffered a recurrence of his hamstring problem.

He is expected to be sidelined until next month. Aarons said on Twitter: “Everything happens for a reason. I’ll be back...again.”
