Pools currently sit a point outside the top seven after Featherstone’s brace helped them to a 2-0 win over Notts County at Victoria Park last weekend.

Now they have to translate their results at home, back on the road as they travel to Boreham Wood this weekend (3pm kick-off) looking to pick up their first away win since November. And Featherstone is determined to avoid another false dawn.

“100 per-cent [we can challenge], I had a slight worry a couple of months ago because we kept getting close then having a set-back,” he said. “If we can keep winning we’ll get to where we want to be. We’ve got momentum and we can take that into two really tough games coming up.

“Speaking to the lads, we all believe we can do it.”
