Pools are set to host Wealdstone in the National League on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

But with sub-zero temperatures forecast as well as a yellow weather warning for ice in the town, the club have decided to arrange a pitch inspection at 8:30am on Saturday morning.

Dave Challinor’s side are yet to play a match in 2021 after last weekend’s fixture at Halifax Town was called off following an inspection due to a frozen pitch.

On Friday evening, Pools released the following statement: “There will be a pitch inspection held tomorrow morning at 8.30am ahead of the Hartlepool United v Wealdstone fixture at Victoria Park.

“The pitch was assessed this afternoon after a spell of very wet weather and cold temperatures. With frost covers having been on the pitch in recent days, a decision was made to hold an inspection in the morning.”
